The Democratic Party
- The official site of the California Democratic Party has news, commentary and links to many Democratic organizations. You can also subscribe to a newsletter.
- Sonoma County Democratic Central Committee is the local arm of the Democratic party.
- The Santa Rosa Democratic Club holds a monthly dinner meeting on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Veterans Memorial Building in Santa Rosa. It is the largest Democratic Club in the county.
The Environment
- Sonoma County Conservation Action is a political organization focusing specifically on local planning and resource issues.
- Sonoma County's Climate Protection Campaign focuses on local action to respond to global warming.
- Redwood Chapter of the Sierra Club is the local arm of the Sierra Club.
Grassroots Activism
- Moveon.org is a family of organizations devoted to education and advocacy on national political issues.
- Grassroots West is a web-based organization for progressive activists in Northern California.
- Actforchange is a page devoted to activism on the WorkingForChange journal below.
- America Votes is the largest grassroots voter mobilization and education effort in America today.
- BuyBlue is a site that identifies companies that do and do not support progressive values. It's goal is to mobilize consumer buying power.
- California Clean Money Campaign is an activist organization dedicated to public financing of elections in California
- Living Wage Coalition of Sonoma County addresses the problems of growing income inequality and poverty.
- NEWS (New Economy Working Solutions) is dedicated to raising the living standards low and moderate-income families in the North Bay
Blogs and Journals
- WorkingForChange is an online journal of progressive news and opinion published by Working Assets.
- Brad DeLong's Semi-Daily Journal covers political, technical, and economic issues from a center-left perspective. DeLong is an economist at UC Berkeley. He served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton administration.
- The Daily Kos publishes news and opinion from a progressive point of view.
